Sport is never neutral. From colonial times to the present, the playing field has been a space of domination, resistance, and identity. African athletes have carried the weight of representation, using their victories as acts of defiance against racism, imperialism, and oppression. At the same time, global sports industries often exploit African talent, stripping away dignity and profit.
To reclaim sport as part of the African Revolution, it must be seen not only as entertainment but as a political arena—a space to challenge neocolonial structures, affirm cultural pride, and build unity. Just as Ayiti proved that resistance can overturn empires, sport today can serve as a tool of consciousness, struggle, and liberation.
